Dry Bones

Then he said to me, “Prophesy to these bones and say to them, ‘Dry bones, hear the word of the Lord!" (Ezekial 37:4)

Ezekial prophesies to the bones and they rattled and came together. Tendons and flesh appeared. Breath came into them and there was life. But that life was preceded by hearing the word of the LORD. The Hebrew word translated as hearing is shema, but it means much more than recognizing a sound. In Hebrew, hearing and responding go hand-in-hand. If you haven't responded, then you haven't heard.

Hear the word of the LORD. Respond to him. Obey his command. Put what he is saying into practice and get ready for the breath of life to enter in!
